Our History

FROM THE BEGINNING TO NOW

In 1890 Eugenio Sabatini established his eponymous company, the oldest healthcare shop in Rome, specializing in the sale of surgical instruments, laboratory materials and glassware, and healthcare items.
Dr. Giuseppe Scioscia Santoro took over the business in 2007, and has kept the same spirit and enthusiasm as its founder. His commitment is to provide new knowledge and professionalism for continuous growth in the industry, and to offer a consistently high level of service.

“FARMASALUS srl – Antica Sanitaria in Roma Since 1890” was founded upon the idea of providing a one-stop shop bringing together areas that had always been related but never completely united: healthcare devices, technical-scientific supplies, and OTC medicines. The goal was to provide an effective and valuable answer to every need. The shop and warehouse were housed since 1890 in their original location in the 16th-century Palazzo della Valle on Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, right in Rome’s historic center. In 2018, following an expansion in the business, the shop and warehouse moved to Corso Vittorio Emanuele II 81/83 in the 14th-century Palazzo Pescatori-Serventi, thus becoming a point of reference for professionals in the medical sector as well as private individuals.
